Much more here:David Castillo bagged Tea Party activists and now he has captured Christian conservatives as he seeks to become the Republicans' nominee for Congress in the
3rd District race.Four prominent leaders from the religious right, including ex-U.S. Rep. Randy
Tate and Bothell pastor Joe Fuiten, have declared their support for Castillo, an
Olympia financial consultant and former Bush administration official."It is time we have public servants like David Castillo who will promote a culture of life from conception through natural death," said an endorsement letter. It is signed by Tate, Fuiten, Rick Forcier of the Christian Coalition of Washington and Gary Marx, former Social Conservatives Director of Bush Cheney04.
Castillo was already running for the 3rd District seat when U.S. Rep. Brian Baird, D-Wash., announced that he was leaving Congress after six terms.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) immediately began touting State Rep. Jaime Herrera, and virtually ignored Castillo.
Herrera has since won endorsements from several leading Republican politicians including former Sen. Slade Gorton and U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rogers. Herrera is a former aide to McMorris-Rogers. She is listed prominently on the NRCC's list of "Young Guns" congressional candidates. But Castillo has proven a fighter. He stood out among four Republican hopefuls at a recent debate in Longview, sharply criticizing the Obama administration's economic stimulus package.
The Christian conservatives, who have signed up as members of a Social conservative Advisory Council, also praised Castillo as a defender of "traditional" unions, saying: "We want to see more elected officials in Washington who support legislation that will reinforce marriage as the bedrock of a health society."
Based on the response of the winged monkey sock puppets to Castillo's FreedomWorks endorsement, (Here, here and here) is their any doubt that they will soon start whining and moaning about how "out of touch" former Congressman Randy Tate is about the vaunted "WA03?" About how Rick Forcier and Gary Marx don't know what they're talking about... and how COULD they POSSIBLY have endorsed David Castillo without talking to little ol' Jaime?
Well, I don't need to talk to a fence post to know it's a fence post.
I'll be off line for an hour or so. I need to get some popcorn so I can be entertained by the ignorants babbling for Herrera in response to yet ANOTHER indication that she's a fake Republican... and a fake conservative.
Herrera whining to begin in 3... 2... 1...
